Amber Selfie

I've had this sketch sitting on my computer probably for about a year thinking 'one of these days, I'm gonna color that...'. I just finished my comic pages for next week and had a little free time so I finally did it. Plus it has been a super (no pun intended) long time since I've drawn Amber. Willem is up and running again and she wont be making an appearance for a little while yet. I hope you guys are enjoying Lightspeed Lad's little retelling of his relationship with Wallflower. Amber's still hard at work in the basement trying to get Willem's head on straight...

I was probably about 22 years old when I designed Amber. It was the first time I'd tried my hand at making a comic about super heroes. Somewhere in the back of my mind was this thought that every teen super hero team should have a pretty blonde. But I wanted more out of her than just a pretty face. She's smart and she's funny, and sure... a little boy crazy, especially if it seems the boy is a completely uninterested robot, haha. On the surface, she seems like a typical teenager. Who would suspect her father is a mad scientist super villain who can't die? Amber is easily one of my favorite characters.

Plus, star boobs.
