Twins and kings of seasons
In the olden days, when the weather was alive and faeries ran wild,
Near the farms and near the fields,
Uncles, grand-fathers and other old ones from the hills,
Used to tell of the weathery tales
That said how the world was built and how time was made.
And among these tales was the dearly-loved one
Of the two kings of the seasons.
“They are two,” they would tell you.
“Twins of the time, twins of the weather
Twins of Mother Nature.
