The Split Screen Book
I roughed out the pages for the rest of the Split Screen series. There's about 8 pages to go until the main story comes to an end. The book will include a short epilogue (5 pages or so), some mini comics, commentary, sketches, maybe more stuff if I can think of more! I'll need to do some calculating about how many books I'd like to print and the costs and whether or not I'll print tee shirts, stickers or other extras... I also need to come up with a cover design. So many decisions! It seems a little overwhelming right now but once it's all done it'll be worth it.
The future of Willem
I'll be taking a break from Willem for a while to focus on my Split Screen book and move onto some new projects. It pains me to do so... honestly it does, but Willem takes up a lot of my time and energy every week and there's just been very little return on that. I spent the past couple months advertising, and while I saw a spike in traffic, there were no new subscribers, no new comments. I just can't see continuing to put in so much work into a series that has virtually no readership. I don't think I'll ever truly know or understand why it never picked up any steam, but it is what it is. I have one more update that will go up some time next week. I may put up pages from time to time when the motivation strikes, but for now... well, the future of Willem is uncertain.
I'll starting two projects soon once the Split Screen book is ready to go. One is my Devil Spy series. I've been wanting to work on this for a while, but I was apprehensive since a lot of the beginning of the series takes place in a city and I am horrible at drawing backgrounds/buildings. So I'm going to take a little time "off" to practice perspective and background drawing. I've decided to use downtown Portland as the model since it's easy for me to just go down there and look at things. Plus, it's supposed to be a small city in the story and Portland is mad awesome. The story takes place in a future where all of the humans are gone and the only "people" around are some government made human/animal hybrid super soldiers. It focuses on one in particular (who goes by the name "Devil Spy") as he goes around the city cleaning up old human bodies. Just as he's starting to tire of the daily routine, he stumbles upon a chubby human boy named Wyatt who explains that he and his sister may be the only human survivors. But his sister was taken by one of DS's kind, and the two go on a quest to try and get her back. There's some more stuff about it here in this folder (although some of it's old and not necessarily how the series will actually be, haha) jaymzeecat.deviantart.com/gall…
The second project I will be working on is my Ocarina of Time project (finally!). It's called "Hey, Listen!" and the basic storyline is that Navi the fairy has gone on vacation, and Pit (from Kid Icarus) has gotten in trouble and been sentenced to community service in the form of "fairy duty". He and Link have to go through the OoT quest together, but they don't necessarily get along. Hilarity ensues. Since this project will be secondary to my main comic, I've decided to put out the series in chunks rather than week by week. Probably a temple at a time or something. We'll see. I still need to sit down and play the game and write the script.

Jake will be running a Kickstarter talk: www.facebook.com/events/180648…
I'm really looking forward to it because I know next to nothing about Kickstarter and I'll need the knowledge and help for my book campaign. If you'll be in the area, you should totally come check it out. Also, there's desks for rent at the Shared Space studio where we work. Come rent a desk and get your draw on!
Me, Jake and Sarah will be going to Rifftrax: Santa Claus Conquers the Martians on Thursday, that should be fun. I hope they have trivia before the movie like they did at Night of the Living Dead.
I'll be busy baking for the next month. Holiday treats, yay! That's all for now, hope you guys enjoy the updates this week.
